Features and Benefits

• Pe2 aluminium is formed as a solid 2mm sheet. This means there are no fire hazards or toxic gas issues.
• Pe2 is approximately 30% stronger than composite panel material which ends up with only 0.5mm metal to hinge on any folds. Therefore it is not necessary to use stiffeners and support braces at the corners.
• Pe2 sheet is 100% recyclable.
• Pe2 is tested to meet AS/NZS4284:1995.
• Pe2 has excellent panel flatness making it ideal for wider façades and fascia details.
• Pe2 is available in a wide range of colours in either powder coated or pvdf paint finish.
• The panels are manufactured before the colour is added. This means less wastage of painted material compared to pre-painted sheets. Also the aluminium can be curved, folded or even welded to form complex designs if desired.
• Pe2 uses a hidden clip fixing system. This means no silicone. The negative joint detail is fully expressed and there are no maintenance requirements.

The cavity between the backing wall and the rain screen is pressure equalised. This inhibits the ingress of driven rain and also allows any penetrating moisture to dry out.

The advantage of this system is that there is a physical extraction of any humidity that might come in from open joints, develop as condensation water or as an extraction from the building through the insulation as vapour out of the building. This makes the façade breathe, a natural process reducing energy consumption.
